Q3 Microsoft CSP price adjustment lands 1 Oct — lock your renewal rate

How our pricing works.

We do not publish a rate card, because a published rate would be wrong for most of the people reading it. Here is exactly what determines your number, and how to get a firm one in four business hours.

Why there is no price list

Software licensing is not priced like a product on a shelf. The same seat of the same product costs different amounts depending on the program it is bought under, the term you commit to, the date the term starts, and whether your organisation qualifies for a discount tier. A single published figure would be accurate for roughly nobody.

What we do instead is quote firm, in writing, within four business hours — and hold that number for thirty days.

The four things that move your price

Publisher program

CSP, perpetual, and volume programs price the same software differently, and each carries different rights. CSP subscriptions bill monthly or annually and scale up and down; perpetual licenses are bought once and owned, but carry no upgrade rights unless you add them. Which one is cheaper depends entirely on how long you intend to keep the software.

Term length

A monthly commitment costs more per seat than an annual one, and an annual one more than a multi-year. The trade is flexibility: monthly terms can be reduced at any billing cycle, annual terms generally cannot. We will tell you what the longer commitment saves and what it costs you in flexibility, and let you decide.

Volume tier

Seat count moves the rate, but so does what kind of organisation you are. Registered nonprofits and academic institutions qualify for substantially different pricing on most Microsoft products — in some cases donated rather than discounted. Tell us which you are when you ask for a quote and we will verify eligibility with the publisher before pricing anything.

Term start date

Publisher price adjustments take effect on announced dates. A term that starts before an adjustment is generally held at the earlier rate for its duration, which is why a renewal three weeks early sometimes costs materially less than the same renewal three weeks late. We flag this when it applies to you.

What we do not do

  • No minimum order. One seat is a real order and gets the same certificate, paperwork and renewal tracking as a five-hundred-seat tenant.
  • No charge for the platform. License tracking, renewal alerts and idle-seat reporting are included at every size.
  • No charge for advice. The written recommendation comes with the quote, including when the recommendation is that you need less than you asked for.
  • No transfer fees. Moving licenses in or out is free; where a publisher charges for a transfer we pass it through at cost and show it first.

The estimator on our homepage

There is an estimator on the homepage that gives an indicative annual figure. Treat it as a sense-check, not a quote: it uses illustrative list-price approximations, excludes tax, and cannot know your program, start date or eligibility. Every real number we give you is confirmed in writing first.

Getting a firm number

Tell us what you are trying to do, roughly how many people need it, and when. That is enough to quote. You do not need to know the SKU, and you do not need an account with us to ask — see how it works for the full sequence.
